I’m a surface pattern designer and illustrator located in Upstate New York.
My art is inspired by the beauty of nature. I would love to bring a bit of the wondrous natural world into people’s lives using my art. The variety of colors, shapes, and textures in flowers, fruits, vegetables, and animals influence my designs.
I’ve been interested in creating art as long as I can remember. As a child, I loved making paper dolls to play with and had fun doodling in all of my notebooks. I enjoyed drawing in my free time.
My background as a Registered Dietitian and as a science teacher heightened my interest in science and nature. When I was helping people plan their diets, I always felt like drawing all of the wonderful fruits and vegetables that we were talking about. I decided that it was time to pursue a career that uses my creativity and found many wonderful courses from Make it in Design, Make Art that Sells, and the Children’s Book Academy that I took to help get my design and illustration skills to the next level.
